European Masters 2011 - Bridlington


Good luck to Ballymena Towers players Lee Wright & Phil Houston in the European Masters starting this week. Lee will be representing Northern Ireland in the Mens B1 team while Phil will be representing Northern Ireland in the U-21 team. All the best to Lee, Phil and the rest of the guys representing our wee country!

Latest News - League Dinner & End of Season Cup's!

All outstanding matches to be played asap, as the Top Four and Braid Cup are to be played on 3rd May. 

The Top Four to be played in the Michelin Club and the Braid Cup to be played in the BUSC.

Captains Night -Friday 6th May BUSC. Only official captains may be permitted to play.

All numbers for Pool Dinner on 13th May at BUSC to be given to Gary Richardson ASAP. All Captains have his mobile number. Cost is £15 per person.

Results Week 21 - Tuesday 12th April 2011

Minnesota 8 Ballers 4-2 Fairhill Hustlers

Gary Clarke got the champions off to a good start when he defeated George McCullough in straight frames. Lee Wright carried on and made the score two nil for the 8 Ballers when he also had a win in straight frames over Robert Graham. In the third game Ryan Foster made it 3-0 when he came from being one down to win 2-1 against Justin Kilpatrick. In the fourth game Fairhill pulled one back when Paul Hayes had a 2-0 win over Barry McLarnon and then Fairhill pulled another one back when Ritchie Irwin beat Pat McAnally 2-1 after being one down to make the score 3-2 for the 8 Ballers. In the last game John McAllister made it four when he beat Davy Montgomery by a 2-0 score for a final score of 4-2 for the reigning champions.

Knockeden Jokers 6-0 Horse & Jockey

Martin Craig defeated Eddie Maxwell by a 2-1 scoreline to give the Jokers the lead. In the second game Gareth Rowe had an 8 ball clearance in the first frame and also won the second frame for a 2-0 win over Dean Hill. David Gillespie defeated Sam McCalmont in straight frames and Raymond Lynn also had a straight frames win against Rodney Shirley to leave the score 4-0 for the Jokers. The Horse & Jockey only had four players so Ciaran Nelson and Jimmy Gillespie had walkovers.

Social Sports 0-6 Social Inbetweeners

This big derby match was a bit of a damp squib as the Inbetweeners only dropped one frame in the whole match. The first four matches were all won 2-0 by Chris Penny, Derek Dunlop, Gary Ormandy and Mark Gillespie who defeated Ross Hill, Dennis Keenan, Adam Gordon and Richard Turtle respectively. In the fifth game Richard Campbell took the second frame off Phil Houston but Phil ran out a 2-1 winner. In the last game Robert Hargan defeated Brian Boyd 2-0 to make the final score 6-0 for the Inbetweeners.

Results Week 20 - Tuesday 5th April 2011

Social Cobwebs 2-4 Minnesota 8 Ballers

The 8 Ballers arrived at the Social Club and totally blew the Cobwebs away when they raced into a 4-0 lead. Barry McLarnon defeated Barry Weir by a 2-1 scoreline. In the second game Pat McAnally doubled the score to 2-0 with a win in straight frames over Alan Rainey. The third game was a battle of mates when Alan Davidson came out on top with a 2-0 win over Stephen Holmes. John McAllister made it four when he defeated Liam Erwin in straight frames. Jimmy Knowles pulled one back for the Cobwebs with a 2-1 win against Lee Wright and in the last game Barry Kernohan came from being one down to win 2-1 against Ryan Foster and to leave the match score 4-2 for the 8 Ballers.

Michelin Masters 5-1 Knockeden Jokers

In the first game Michael Thompson put the Jokers ahead when he came from being one down to defeat Drew Sloan 2-1 and Michael had an 8 Ball clearance in the third frame. Rick McMaster levelled the match when he also came from being one down to defeat David Gillespie 2-1. In the next two games Michelin won both by 2-0 through Alan and David Armstrong who beat Gareth Rowe and Raymond Lynn respectively. In the fifth game Donald Alexander beat Ciaran Nelson 2-1 after losing the first frame to make the match score 4-1 for Michelin. In the last game Brian Hanna defeated James Gillespie for a 5-1 score for the Masters.

Horse & Jockey 2-4 Slemish Hotshots

Ricky Handley got the home team ahead when he beat Chrissy McCrory by a 2-1 scoreline. Slemish fought back and won the next two games without dropping a frame there winners being Davie Calderwood and Chris Adams who defeated Sam McCalmont and Dale Rodgers. In the fourth game Rodney Fleck had to come from being one down to win 2-1 against Henry Butler and in the fifth game Gregory Shaw made it 4-1 when defeated Dean Hill in straight frames. In the last game Eddie Maxwell pulled back a game for the Jockey by defeating Dean Calderwood by a 2-0 scoreline and to leave the final result 4-2 for the Hotshots.

Fairhill Hustlers 4-2 Social Sports

George McCullough put the home team ahead when he defeated Ross Hill in straight frames and Robert Graham increased the lead to 2-0 when he defeated Adam Gordon also in straight frames. The Sports fought back and levelled the match at 2-2 by winning the next two games through Dick Turtle who came from being one down to defeat Justin Kilpatrick 2-1 and Richard Campbell who beat David Montgomery 2-1. As the Sports could only field four players the last two games went to the Fairhill to leave the final match score 4-2 for the Hustlers.

Re-arranged Match from week 16 08/03/11

Fairhill Hustlers 4-2 Slemish Hotshots

Slemish travelled to Ahoghill for this game and started well when Chrissy McCrory defeated Justin Kilpatrick 2-1 after losing the first frame. The Fairhill levelled the match with a 2-1 win by Robert Graham over Gary Rodgers. In the third game the Hotshots took the lead for the second time when David Calderwood beat Gary Agnew in straight frames. After this Paul Hayes levelled the match at 2-2 when he beat Rodney Fleck by a 2-1 scoreline. The last two games went the way of the home team when Ritchie Irwin  defeated Gregory Shaw while George McCullough had a walkover in the final game as Slemish could only field five players, and this left the match score 4-2 for the Hustlers.

Results Week 19 - Tuesday 29th March 2011

Connellys 3-3 Slemish Hotshots


Niall McElroy got the home team off to a good start with a 2-0 win over David Calderwood. This was followed up with another 2-0 win for the hosts when Johnny Walker beat Chris Adams. Connellys had another 2-0 to go 3-0 up in the match when Joey McNally beat Gary Rodgers. After this though, Slemish took control and won the last 3 games to get the draw. Gary Shaw beat Alan Smyth 2-0, while Rodney Fleck came from behind to beat Kevin Scullion 2-1, and Damien Keenan salvaged the final point when he beat William Mitchell 2-0 to leave the final score 3-3.

Social Sports 3-3 Horse and Jockey


Adam Gordon  had a 2-0 win over Sam McCalmont but the match was leveled when Henry Butler also had a 2-0 win over Ross Hill. Dennis Keenan got the lead back for the Sports when he defeated Dean Hill in straight frames and then Richard Campbell increased the lead to 3-1 when he beat Rodney Shirley. Dale Rodgers lost the first frame for the Jockey but fought back to win 2-1 against Richard Turtle to make the score 3-2 for the Sports. In the last game Eddie Maxwell secured a draw by beating Rosie Turtle 2-0 to leave the final score 3-3.

Social Inbetweeners 3-3 Fairhill Hustlers

George McCullough lost the first frame but fought back for a 2-1 win against Derek Dunlop and put the Hustlers into the lead. Robert Graham doubled the score when he beat Mark Gillespie also by a 2-1 scoreline. Chris Penny pulled one back for Social when he beat Justin Kilpatrick by a 2-1 scoreline. In the fourth game Ritchie Irwin restored the two frame lead when he beat Finton Long in straight frames to leave the match score 3-1 for the Fairhill. Then Phil Houston pulled one back for the Social when he beat Paul Hayes by a 2-1 scoreline. In the last game Robert Hargan got a draw for the Inbetweeners when he came from being one frame down to win 2-1 over Gary Agnew and the final score was 3-3.

Results Week 18 - Tuesday 22nd March 2011

Social Cobwebs 4-2 Connellys

Barry Weir got the Cobwebs off to a good start when he beat Jason Hodgeson in straight frames . In the second game Jonny Walker levelled the match when he beat Darren Magee 2-1 after losing the first frame. Chris McGaughey gave Connelly’s the lead when he defeated Liam Erwin by a 2-0 score. In the fourth game Stephen Holmes came from being one down to beat Joey McNally 2-1 to level the match at 2-2. Jimmy Knowles put Cobwebs ahead when he beat Kevin Scullion in straight frames and in the last game Gary Richardson came from behind to beat Alan Smyth 2-1 for a 4-2 scoreline.

Slemish Hotshots 5-1 Social Sports

Hotshots went into a 2-0 lead when Chris McCrory and Gary Rodgers both came from being one down to win 2-1 against Ross Hill and Adam Gordon. In the third Richard Campbell pulled one back when he defeated Chris Adams 2-0 to make the score 2-1 for the Hotshots. The last three games all went the way of the Slemish there winners being Dean Calderwood, Connor Graham and Rodney Fleck who defeated Richard Turtle, Brian Boyd and Rosie Turtle all by 2-0 scorelines for a final score of 5-1 for the Slemish.

Horse and Jockey 2-4 Social Inbetweeners

The Inbetweeners took the first two games through Derek Dunlop and Mark Gillespie who beat Eddie Maxwell and Dale Rodgers both by 2-0 scorelines. Sam McCalmont pulled one back when he beat Chris Penny by a 2-1 scoreline. The away team went into a 3-1 lead when Finton Long beat Henry Butler by a 2-0 scoreline. In the fifth game Ricky Handley pulled back another game for the Jockey when he beat Gary Ormandy by a 2-1 scoreline. In the final game Phil Houston won in straight frames over Dean Hill to leave the match score 4-2  for the Inbetweeners.
